Garobed and the Izmirian name

I have been told by Haig, Garobed was a fugitive who escaped from Jail in Izmir. He was able to escape from the cell on the 1st floor and jumped. He broke his leg in the fall but was able to get away. He walked with a limp for the rest of his life. Whilst on run he made his way to Musa Dagh and the Armenian community. He was known from that time on as Garobed Izmirian. His crime or his previous surname is unknown. My previous information suggested that the Armenian community in Musa Dagh was made up of criminals seeking refuge in difficult to get to places. I can not confirm or denign this information but it is plausible logical and I like it.
